Judo Chokes and Strangles for Mixed Martial Arts

Instructional videos of traditional Judo chokes and strangles we have modified for use in MMA

While fighting in a no gi situation limits the variety of traditional Judo submissions (particularly judo chokes and strangles), there are a number of them that are readily adapted for MMA submissions.  Judo chokes and strangles are, of course, very convincing means of winning a fight!

These should always be practiced under the direct supervision of a qualified instructor because the improper application of any of these techniques can cause serious injury or death. Always apply force gradually, giving your partner lots of time to tap out. When in doubt, let go of the technique for your partner's safety. If unconsciousness should occur, immediately let go of the technique and apply the appropriate first aid measures (if you don't know what first aid should be done, Do Not practice any of these on your own - get a knowledgeable instructor to guide you!).
