Judo Ground Holds for Mixed Martial Arts

Instructional videos of traditional Judo ground holds we have modified for use in MMA

Ground holds and pins are crucial as a "base of operations" in MMA. They allow you to solidly maintain a dominant top position, keep you relatively safe from strikes, give you a superior position to launch strikes and submissions of your own, and tire your opponent out by making him carry your weight.  This is one of the strongest areas for Judo in MMA since judo competition rules require a 25 second pin for a win - a Very long time to control a struggling opponent!

While we're in the process of expanding this section, check out the Traditional Judo Ground Holds as well - they are very strong and most of them are easily adapted to no-gi fighting.
